Following the incredible energy and positive response to our last pop-up shop CARE // FULLY CURATED in July, we couldn’t wait to do it all again. For seven days on the buzzing Nine Streets in Amsterdam, we took over De Merkenwinkel in collaboration with the clean beauty online shop, Nourished. With the stores bright interior and floor to ceiling window we knew it was the perfect setting to host our event and panel talk on clean beauty and transparency in the fashion industry.

As with sustainable fashion practices, growing interest in the impact of the contents in our bathroom cabinets and make-up bags is also on the rise. We know it’s not easy to spot greenwashing and decipher the truth behind the claims bombarded by brands lulling us into believing they’re greener than they really are, or to wade through the swathes of confusing information online. We believe sustainable products should be more accessible and the positive reasons behind why these are a better choice made clearer. Together, we set out to make it easier and co-curated a collection of clothing, accessories, shoes and beauty under one roof, giving you the chance to try-out the eco-conscious and ethical products before buying. We also love these opportunities to chat and meet those interested in learning more about shopping sustainably and so Claudia, our founder of thegreenlabels and Floor, the co-founder of Nourished were on site all week to offer expert advice.

The panel talk “When Sustainable Fashion Meets Clean Beauty – Decoding the Hype”, took place in store and was moderated by the super knowledgeable Willa, founder and Creative Director of W GREEN. The panel members were Floor, the co-founder of Nourished, Stephanie, the founder of lifestyle blog, Let’s Talk Slow, Nabila, a supply chain expert and founder of Fous a Fous and Thomas, a chemist and owner of the cosmetics laboratory Rebel-Nature. The insightful discussion covered topics from what really is recycled plastic to tips on what a conscious shopper should look out for when it comes to clothing care labels or ingredients for skincare (hint: not everything natural is good). On the night, over some incredibly tasty refreshments from Raw Happiness and Lemonaid & Charitea, was another opportunity to chat directly with the panel members and even further tap into their seemingly endless knowledge.

Thank you to everyone who joined and popped in to say hi. We can’t quite believe it’s over but we’re back in the office already planning what’s to come. Trust us, you won’t want to miss the next one!
