FOUNDED IN 2016 - BELGIUM

Bambaw's mission is to reduce the waste generated on earth by providing affordable, quality, zero-waste products. Based in Belgium, if you’re from Europe the products don’t need to travel far to get to you. All production and transport is carbon neutral and this is certified by the Carbon Trust Label! Bambaw is made of a small an impact driven team that rethinks the way we consume and leverages technology to provide affordable, quality, zero-waste products.

With regards to sustainability & transparency, what are your core values that define how your brand operates?

Transparency and honesty are deeply rooted in our company's philosophy. To empower all customers to make the right, sustainable choice, we need to be completely transparent about our products, from the conception to the final delivery. In terms of sustainability, the first priority is to have alternatives for single-use and/or polluting items, which we call zero-waste swaps. We want our customers to rethink their consuming behaviour. This includes only buying when it is needed, even in our shop. Plastic pollution is a major threat to the world for many reasons: CO2 pollution, its resistance and the danger for wildlife. There are several ideas to clean up the mess humans created over the last decades, but our philosophy is to solve the problem at its source. Only a combined effort of cleaning up the trash and creating less of it can make a better tomorrow. Next to our swaps, we want to share information and enthusiasm about zero-waste living. Thus, we go further than trying to sell as many swaps as possible. We aim to help as many people as possible to think about their impact on the world.

With regards to sustainability & transparency, what are the "hot topics" you are currently working on and try to improve yourself on?

We know that we are not perfect and always try to improve wherever we can. Currently, we are using a logistics provider for the transportation who we tell to ship every product of ours plastic free. However, when working with a third party, some small mistakes can be made. We are aware of the fact, which is the reason why we tell the B2C customers to look for our swaps in their local zero-waste store. There, we can guarantee the plastic free delivery. However, we want to improve on this point and guarantee plastic free delivery to all. To us, no one is perfect. But the best thing you can do is to be honest about your shortcomings. Wrong information or misleading customers is something that would never cross our minds. To be more sustainable, we implemented a carbon offsetting program to have a CO2 neutral supply chain and transport. We realize that there are many different threats to the environment and fighting on only one front is not enough.
